Without skipping a beat, I reported with a "Canada."
Specifically, "Vancouver." (They have a temple there!)
Actually, I would just love to live anywhere in British Columbia.
True, The Olympics have been very influential in prompting me to say that, but I have considered it. I've thought about living there. Not any time soon, of course, but perhaps one day...when I retire...when I get out and see the world!
It's my dream. :)
So then Bill asked me why I hadn't been there. Which was a curious thought. I had no idea how long it would take to get to Vancouver! I mean, Washington is a 12 hour drive...a little more and I'd hit the Canadian border...gee! Why haven't I been there?
Bill has a handy dandy Blackberry. He promptly pulled up Google Maps and we found that from our location in Logan, Vancouver is a 15 hour and 16 minute drive. We zoomed in on Vancouver with the satellite view and I snatched up his phone. By dragging my finger across the touch screen, I was able to inch along and follow I-84 from Vancouver to Logan for the next 45 minutes or so. All the while, Bill and I talked about life.
I need a passport.
So in a matter of an hour and a half, I was able to travel from Vancouver, to Logan, to Coutts by finger. It was a most beautiful trip. The terrain is blessedly green!
And then I was reunited with reality by the blaring beep of Bill's phone indicating that the battery was nearly dead. Harsh wake-up call from a splendid "road trip" and splendid conversation.
One day...Oh Canada!

Jess, I've gotta tell you, you're not missing much by not going to Vancouver. It's not a beautiful city, I have to say. It's actually quite ugly, but Whistler is beautiful and that's an hour or so past Vancouver, so you should do it and pass through Seattle while you're at it. The border's just a short 2 hours from here!!
Yay! What a wonderful trip by finger! I'm super jealous, please take me with you when you go for real! I have a passport! Let's go visit Canada, I need to see this place and check it out. Make sure Tyson is safe. ;)
Take me with you Jess. We will pick Heather up on the way and make her be our guide!
